Business Videos

Business videos can be used to describe your business through actual footage for your company and business or basic video from other sources. As long as it is a visual representation of the services and products you offer, then fine.

Here is a video which includes video images, animation and effects taken from stock houses. Although this video does the job in terms of visual impact, the costs for producing it were quite low. This is due to the fact that all content shown here is not from the business location -- it was all done on a PC in a few hours using other sources.

Now business videos can cover your products and/or your company. However, we’d keep them separate if you can.

Nobody wants to sit through a corporate video on a third-party website for 5 minutes, but they will view a 2 minute product video on a relevant site, YouTube or other portal. Of course, corporate vids are only ever any good on your own site and should be used to give your company credibility and to shout about your mission and customer care.

So, which one to choose and how to go about producing one?

The first thing you need to do is decide on whether your business videos are going to be about your product/service or about your company. By all means do a very quick intro about your company but if you are going to do this, just mention the key points:

1. Which products your company specialises in
2. How long your company has been established
3. Why your company is positioned to do a good job
4. Why you can provide good after sales service

You should be able to do this in just 20 -- 30 seconds and then leave the rest of the video to talk about your key products.

If you are planning a big corporate video then you have two main choices:

1. You can produce company videos using still images, powerpoint slides and/or short video footage
2. You can get a camera crew in for a half a day

The second option can cost upwards of £1200 ($1800) and will take you a fair bit of time to plan. However, we offer this service for much less (around £750) and we always make sure that the fundamental points are covered in the office before we arrive with the cameras.

The other option is to take a few simple video shots of your products (animated or static) your team/staff working away like little ants and/or a few shots of your warehouse, reception area and even a shot of a customer site. This could take just 30-60 minutes to do and will transform your business videos.

This could be the best option if you want to save time and money.
You could then send this footage along with a few high resolution images and a video creation company could do it all for you. They will usually work from a script or product pdf file for the voice over (narration) and then make it look good with a few visual effects. The cost for a simple image video can be just £250 ($325) to around £300 and our own starter video package falls within this lower price range.

This can be an excellent alternative to higher cost business videos and could be completed in 24 hours. You just have to figure out whether you’d like to do the production yourself or get the help of experts.
