Event Video

Event video is all about getting the right message across and setting the tone very early. You want to attract potential visitors and exhibitors so you need a mixture of good quality footage at both ends of the spectrum.

First of all people should identify with the event, the location, the audience and the exhibitors. This can all be summed up in a brief intro from the person behind the camera or providing the narration.

Shots of the event, people paying and walking the aisles is always a good start.

Try to get some footage of people attending any conference attached to the event and then from people visiting. Why are they there and what are they looking for?

An event video should also include coverage of exhibitors talking about why they are there. Always try to choose an exhibitor (for the first shot) who has been at this event for many years. They will usually give a testimonial on camera and this is very powerful – remember the director and interviewer should be controlling the show!

Some decent product shots and a brief mention of the available facilities is always a good idea.

Here is a brief video above which we shot in Germany earlier in 2010. This particular exhibition covered the bioscience industry and was very well organised. The feedback we have recieved from exhibitors was very positive and we’ll certainly be back for the next event.

Notice how this particular event video started with an intro and then went onto key points like getting to the show, transport, facilities, content, conference, products etc. It is vital to cover these points so the potential visitor/exhibitor knows what they can expect from the show or event itself. They might sign up next year and the organiser will be your new best friend.
